My Story

My love of photography began at a very young age. My mother, who is a painter, noticed I had an eye. She handed me her camera when I was about seven and told me I could go capture subject matter for her artwork. I remember always looking for good light, and quick moments that felt emotive. I’ve continued to work that way professionally for the past 15 years. I had lots of dreams of traveling the world, photographing amazing subjects, shooting cinematic masterpieces, but the longer I shot I came to realize families have become the heart and soul of my work. Real stories are what capture my attention. There is so much beauty in the love between people in our lives, the birth and growth of our own children. Now a mother of my own two boys, I truly appreciate how fleeting these simple moments really are. I hope that I can be someone to guide you through a session while hopefully capturing who you are because that's worth documenting.

I was born and raised in a small town in Oklahoma, with some time spent living in the mountains of Colorado as well. I always knew I wanted to end up back in Oklahoma where I love the land, the people and the lifestyle. I have been picking up a camera for as long as I can remember but didn’t know it would be my career until college. While studying photography, I discovered my passion for videography as well. I really fell in love with how much emotion can be derived from movement and the ability to tell stories through film. In my twenties I spent lots of time traveling and was working on getting any type of work I could get my hands on. In 2021 I met my now husband and my life took a 180. We quickly fell in love, got married, and had two children all by our 3rd wedding anniversary. I moved to his tiny hometown of Cashion where my husband works from home as well as farms with his father part time. We’ve been enjoying this new life as parents, raising our boys with the hopes that they learn what it can mean to value hard work and where they live. It has been the whirlwind of a lifetime and I love that it is our story.

While my career took a back seat for a bit, motherhood completely opened my eyes to how important my work is, and where my focus should be directed to. Daily life is so dang beautiful, big moments, small moments, sisterhood, brotherhood, working hard and learning ways of life. I realized that the photos we want to look back on are the memories made with the version of our loved ones we won’t get to be with again. Our children won’t have pudgy little fingers forever, we won’t share mornings in the kitchen with our siblings for long. Not everyone is lucky enough for their children to have an opportunity to hug their great grandparents. These are the moments I hope to capture for my clients.
